Planning a family or maternity photoshoot, and wondering about the best photoshoot locations in San Diego?

I’m here for you!

Choosing a location for your photos can be tricky, since for the best photos, everything has to come together in one particular spot: background, lighting, scenery, accessibility, and the (lack of) crowds.

As an experienced lifestyle family photographer in San Diego, I’ve photographed families and pregnant couples in a ton of different places, and I can tell you what works best.

I’ve taken those locations and created individual guides that give you all the information you need to decide if that’s the location for your family or maternity photos!

Below, my list (in no particular order) of the best photoshoot locations in San Diego, with a link to each complete guide.

The Best Locations for Photos in San Diego – My Guides

  • Coronado Beach: a perennial favorite, the beach is a timeless choice for your family or maternity photos. Read my complete guide here.
  • Mission Trails Regional Park: this place gets busy during the fall family photoshoot season, but for good reason. Read about it here.
  • This rocky beach in Del Mar: parking can be a bear, but the lovely results are oh-so-worth-it! Read my complete guide here.
  • Laguna Mountain: this one is sort of a secret, so a great choice for those families wanting someplace unique. Read about it here.
  • Planning a fall photoshoot and looking for the best locations that actually LOOK like fall? Read my fall locations mini-guide here.

A Few Unique Photoshoot Locations in Southern California

Willing to roadtrip a bit for your precious photos? You’ll be greatly rewarded!

Below, my guides to several incredible Southern California photoshoot locations:

  • The Imperial sand dunes: also known as the Glamis sand dunes, this spot (and your photos) could only be described as “epic.” Read my complete guide to them here.
  • Death Valley National Park: a brilliant and unique choice during the cooler months, your photos won’t look like anyone else’s, that’s for sure. Read my guide here.

But Did you Know…

I’ve got a few other spots up my sleeve, but I like them to stay a bit more special, and just for my clients.

What type of client am I right for? Clients who come to me value warm & connected lifestyle photography, and photographs as meaningful as they are beautiful.

If that sounds like you, head to my home page to see if you love what I offer, and reach out to me through my contact page here.

All the best!

Michelle
