Kids come home with portraits that don’t quite look like them: stiff posture, deer-in-headlights expression, a backdrop that could be from 1992. Parents flip through the proofs and buy a few out of a sense of guilty obligation. But it doesn’t have to be this way.

Getting a genuine smile out of a three-year-old is a skill. It takes patience, warmth, a more than a little silliness.

My approach is the opposite of “look here, say cheese, next.” I take my time with each child. I talk to them, make them laugh, let them warm up. The result is portraits that actually look like your students: full of personality, warm, and real. No forcing, no staging, and not a “say cheese” in sight.

My background as a NICU nurse, school nurse, and then family photographer have given me a foundation for working with children that goes beyond photography technique. I’m calm under pressure, patient with the unpredictable, and genuinely good at helping kids relax. Your team supports the kids, and I handle everything else (including the flyers, parent education, parent communication, and ordering and delivery logistics.
